LAW ENFORCEMENT


Training
Public and private officers interested in becoming firearm instructors should attend one of NRA’s Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor Development Schools, designed to enhance the instructors’ firearm knowledge and handling skills, as well as prepare them to develop effective training programs, instruct in a professional manner and conduct practical training exercises. Restricted to law enforcement officers only.

SPECIAL ALERT

Women’s Wilderness Escape
JULY 16-24—RATON, NM

The first annual NRA Women’s Wilderness Escape will be held July 16-24, 2008, at the NRA Whittington Center in scenic Raton, New Mexico.  The Wilderness Escape provides women 18 and older with exposure to a wide variety of shooting sports, hunting and outdoor-related activities. Participants will learn to shoot rifle silhouette, scoped/tactical carbine, long-range high power rifle, conventional and tactical pistol, historic firearms, shotgun (trap or skeet) and archery. Outdoor activities include camping, survival training, game calling, game habitat, hunter education and western cowgirl history. Food, housing, guns, ammunition, targets, classes, camping, mock hunt, evening activities, instructors, demonstrations and adventures are all included in the $975 fee. Travel to and from location is not included. Space is limited and reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
