Where Your Candidate Stands "This forum was not intended
to serve as the springboard for an NRA endorsement in the presidential
campaign. As we have historically done, we will carefully weigh every
candidate's past actions and future commitments on all issues affecting
the Second Amendment before making an endorsement decision."
--Chris Cox, Executive Director, NRA-ILA.

Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX)
was invited to the NRA's Celebration of American Values event but
did not respond to our invitation. If Rep. Paul had contacted NRA
prior to the event, every effort would have been made to accommodate
his appearance. When the NRA has another candidate forum, we would
hope that Rep. Paul would participate in person or via videotaped
message.
Rep. Paul has since sent the following quote and asked us to post
it on this website: "If you want a president who will stand up for the Constitution,
and who will LEAD the fight to restore our Second Amendment rights,
then I hope to earn your support." — Ron Paul
